Salaulim Dam is an art of great engineering and the beautiful garden surrounding the dam. This is probably the one and only duckbill-type dam built in Goa, India, with the lake overflow water passing through a well into the dam walls. History of Salaulim Dam

Goa’s Salaulim Dam began its construction phase back in 1971 to serve as a source of drinking water and for irrigation purposes, especially to people residing in South Goa through the Salaulim Irrigation Project. The dam was built on the Salaulim River, which is one tributary offshoot of the Zuari River, and it was completed around the year 2000.

Where it is located?

The dam is located in Sanguem taluka, which is in south Goa, and the entire Curdi village has been submerged under water due to this project. Its setting within rolling hills amidst green forests presents it as a site with great visual appeal. This dam lies 60 km away from Panjim and 26 km from Margao; for this, you can hire/rent a scooter or car for this trip.
